Nifty Navigation

This blog post is inspired by the blogging marathon hosted on IndiBlogger for the launch of the #Fantastico Zica from Tata Motors. You can apply for a test drive of the hatchback Zica today.

Moving further along in my quest for completing this blogging marathon inspired by the #TataZica, I’m here with another quick baton trade, now moving on to the “navigation” prompt for the #TataZica Marathon for bloggers.

And this one is going to be one of my angry yet appreciative, condescending yet worshiping, reflective and introspective posts about life. Specifically, life today, as we see, know and live it, in our uncaring and quite thoughtless fashion – leaving all the great gifts of our time unappreciated and ignoring the costs the nature of our time has imposed upon nature with a steadfastness that should be reserved for positive causes, rather than the pillaging and ruin of what is as much our inheritance from our fore fathers and our bequest to the generations of the future.

Without further abstraction (well, hopefully at least), let me get to what I’m talking, blogging, grumbling, rumbling, bleating, rambling and raving about.

Like Louis CK’s issue with people complaining about the somewhat irritating travel conditions that the nature of the economics of air travel subject air travelers to, I take great issue with people complaining about technology.

Just like aforementioned gent, nay, luminary, has to say about fickle adolescents shooting their mouths off about the minor inconveniences in the miracle of human flight (in what is essentially a tin box), I take great issue with the “kids” in “my generation” shooting their mouths off about technology in the wondrous, nay, positively and completely magical age we live in today.

Think about it – we live in a time where information of literally all kinds and types is available, again, literally at our fingertips and all we do is complain.

Ingrates.

That’s pretty much what we are a race. Really. That is the perfect way to sum up this as arrogant as it is idiotic species. Complaining about 3g or 4g connectivity is hardly appreciating the small gifts of life is it now, Mr. Hipster Number 493, is it?

I digress.

So yes, finally to our keyword navigation. And you know, to get to all that appreciative worship in the face of disgruntled disdain that I was going on about back up there at the beginning of this increasingly angst-laden consortium of words, this sulky collection of sentences. (Interestingly, I was tempted to use “parliament of sentences” there, which reminded me of the collective nouns for owls, crows and the like and it really gets me thinking about the collective nouns for words and sentences, if they even exist. Come to think of it, the collective word for words might well be sentence, don’t you think).

If you’re still with me, despite that hearty bout of ADHD up there, here’s the nub of things:
Google maps or equivalent satellite based navigation is a miraculous gift of technology.
Stop whining about imperfections please.
Use that stuff as a general or specific guide (and spectacular guide) depending on the situation.
Enjoy it for what it is.

Cheers.
